Hero MotoCorp has launched a new and unique Combat Edition of its popular sports-commuter motorcycle, the Xtreme 160R 4V. This edition is designed for young riders who want a unique, sporty, and technology-packed bike in the 160cc segment. This edition brings a class-first set of high-tech features, making it the most advanced bike. Pricing has not yet been officially announced, but it is expected to be between ₹1.35 lakh (Delhi est.) and ₹1.42 lakh (ex-showroom), making it a slight premium over the standard model.
Sportier Look and Premium Design
The Combat Edition features a new and modern design that exudes a premium feel. It features an attractive Combat Grey color scheme, often accentuated by neon yellow highlights, giving it an aggressive, military-inspired look. The headlamp design has also been updated, now resembling the LED projector unit found on the Xtreme 250R, giving the front profile a sharper and more attractive look. This edition offers a more premium and sporty look than the standard version, appealing to younger audiences.
Cruise Control and Ride-by-Wire Technology
The biggest highlights of the Combat Edition are its segment-first features, making it the most technologically advanced 160cc bike:
Cruise Control: This feature enhances rider comfort on long highway rides, a first for the 160cc segment.
Ride-by-Wire (RbW): This technology electronically controls throttle response, making it extremely smooth and precise.
Three Riding Modes: RbW offers three riding modes: Rain, Road, and Sport, which adjust the bike’s performance according to road conditions and rider preferences.
New Full-Color LCD Display: This is a modern, high-tech instrument cluster that displays gear position, speed, fuel level, trip details, and even sports features like a 0–60 km/h timer and quarter-mile recorder.
For safety and hardware, dual-channel ABS is standard, and for excellent handling on rough roads, it features KYB USD (upside-down) forks at the front and a monoshock at the rear.
Powerful Engine and Reliable Performance
The Combat Edition is powered by the same powerful engine as the standard Xtreme 160R 4V. This 163.2cc, 4-valve, air-oil-cooled engine produces a maximum power of 16.9 PS (16.66 hp) and a peak torque of 14.6 Nm. Mated to a 5-speed gearbox, the engine offers agile performance in city traffic, as well as refined and reliable highway riding. With the addition of high-tech features, this edition becomes the most advanced and balanced sports commuter bike in its category.
